Today, after parking in the handicapped spot of a lot with my placard, an older couple with their 7-year-old grandchild came up and yelled at me for being a lying asshole and taking the parking spot. When I showed them my prosthetic leg, the kid started crying and guess who got yelled at again. FML

Oh my God. I'm so sorry that happened to you. The nerve of some people. At least you know the second time they yelled at you... it's because they knew they looked stupid the first time.

What a good example they are for that child.

"Respect your elders" Unless they're total cuntflaps

I'm sorry but if the couple is agile enough to take care of a 7 year old child in public they obviously dont need the placard at that point in time. I would have walked away with a smile for teaching their grandkid what assholes his grandparents are.

That's really not how disabilities work.

I would've cursed them out so terribly, they're horrible judgemental people.

I Myself have a prosthetic leg and have been through a similar situation. Obviously not on the same conditions but the point is, I know how you feel op, and I'm sorry you had to deal with that. It's the worst.

I'm so sorry. I may make a snide remark or two at people who look healthy parking in handicap spots (specifically the van accessible ones) but that's because my aunt has MS and everyone takes up the van accessible spaces making us park at the back of the car park and getting yelled at for taking up two spaces so she can get in and out of van.

I really get what you're saying but you still sound really rude. Why would you make comments to people just because they look healthy? I could understand you fussing at people that park in the areas around the van accessible spots (for those that don't know the lines are there to allow more space for someone unloading a wheelchair).

I used to harass people using handicapped spots without obvious handicaps, but I realized that the person may have a heart problem or a bad back or something not obvious. I do still say "I didn't realize mental handicaps qualified" when I see someone using the spot without even having a placard.

you should have beat them worth your leg

I'm so sorry op!! Stickup for yourself though! You did nothing wrong.

Been there, OP! People judging you because "you don't look handicapped" drive me crazy! (I think you stood up for yourself as nicely as possible by showing them your leg...in your place I might have wanted to back over them and drive off, LOL)
