The downside of nepotism
Today, I thought my dad was finally showing interest in the business I started last year when he asked about my next event. Nope, he just wanted to know if I would hire his step-granddaughter. Her first question? "So, I won't have to do any like, real work right?" Gee, thanks Dad. FML

Pay her in Monopoly money. If she doesn't do any "real" work," she won't get any "real money."

Just tell her that she doesn't have to work, "You just, like, won't get real paychecks."

I hope you fired her and told her that she will be stuck working at McDonalds for the rest of her. If she was lucky.

she needs to learn to work in the real world. that includes real work. REAL. WORK.

Just because it's "family" doesn't mean they should get a free ride from you

putting family in business just doesn't go together well. tell him no unless she is seriously willing to work!

OP congrats on starting a business that's my goal also and as for that girl don't hire her because her work ethic sucks and thinks that she doesn't have to work and she'll still get payed that just pisses me off.

You don't have to hire her you know. You also can fire her too. There is no obligation to keep her just because she's sort of family.

great opportunity to teach her what "real work" is.
