Today, I broke up with my girlfriend. She was ecstatic. Apparently, she'd been trying to figure out how to break up with me for the past four months. FML

Eh, easy break up then. I guess it kind of sucks to find out she hasn't wanted you for that long, but at least your split won't be a drawn-out process.

What it may mean is that he may have liked her but she wasn't into it and had probably not been giving 100% to the relationship and so he saw it withering and after 4 months of trying everything to make it work, he finally concluded it was impossible to fix. He spent 4 months pouring his energy in since she didn't have the courage to just end it and likely subconsciously manipulated him into ending it for her. (Making him suffer through those 4 months)
