Today, while shopping with my 6-year-old daughter, she said, "Mommy, remember you wanna get duck tape!" A middle-aged guy nearby scoffed and told her, "DUCT, not DUCK. Dumb cunt." I ended up having to drive my bawling daughter home, with no shopping. FML

Yeah, he could've corrected her nicely. There was no reason for him to swear at her like that. It would've probably been better to mind his own business though. It's not like she was doing anything wrong or disruptive and at six she probably still has some issues pronouncing certain words.

Not only is the man an asshole, he's also technically incorrect. Duct tape was never intended to be used on ducts, since the adhesive can't handle the temperatures. Duct tape was originally created by a Johnson & Johnson subdivision during WWII to seal ammunition cans, and was made of adhesive backed canvas, AKA 'duck cloth'.
