Long road ahead

Today, I'm moving from Arizona to Washington State with my 2 cats in my car. I've only just left and just learned that one cat gets carsick and the other stress farts. Only 956 more miles to go. FML

Should you get rid of your cats? You could always get new ones when you arrive at your destination.

That's a horrible thing to suggest! Those cats might never find a home, in which case you'd essentially be killing them. Also, can't you just get rid of a member of your family? You can just find another when you get there.

@101- People like you are the reason shelters are so overcrowded that most of the animals that end up there never leave. Pets aren't disposable, and if you think they are you should never get one. You'd never tell a parent they can 'just have another kid,' even if it's technically true. Obviously they don't want just any, they want the one they have. The same principle applies to pets. I don't get why this is such a hard concept for some people to understand.

My cat, Cabbit got car sick when moving 15minutes away, not pleasant. The other one peed on me (looked ashamed too), sooo lucky it's just farts and puke.

I never did long trips with my cats before, but I have heard of owners giving their pets tranquilizers. This way the cats would be asleep for the majority of the ride.
