Today, I went to my boyfriend's house after working a night shift. The door was locked and, so I wouldn't wake his parents, I called him. Twelve times. Each call went to voicemail and I was left standing outside in the freezing rain until he finally let me in. What was he doing? Playing video games. FML

Today, I found my boyfriend playing games when we have 5 million things to do, but the bastard picked me up, put me in the hall, shut the door in my face, and barricaded it with the sofa. I texted him, threatening to break up unless he opened the door; he texted back to leave my key behind when I left. FML

Today, my boyfriend and I aren't speaking. He wanted to stay up late to "look for jobs", so I went to bed. An hour later, I was awoken to him screaming. When I ran in to see what was going on, he had a video game open. I shouldn't be mad at him because it was a "mega rare drop", he insists. FML

Today, after a 16-hour work day, I came home to my husband. I talked to him for about 10 minutes, then realized that he wasn't answering me but had his headset on and was talking on Xbox live. Not even playing a game, just talking. FML

Considering the fact that it went straight to voicemail, his phone was likely off, or dead. If he was playing video games, it's easy not to notice. If he wasn't expecting you, he'd have no reason to be waiting for your call, or for you to get there. If he was expecting you, then he really needs to get his act together. Either way, FYL.

Same thing happened to me. only it was -30 weather out and luckily for me the door was unlocked. But i still spent about 20 minutes outside.

Maybe OP works within walking distance of the boyfriend's house and not her own and had planned to stay there and not brought a car/ organised a lift because of this. If it was a night shift it is possible there were no more busses.
