Today, I tracked down my long-lost daughter after losing her to foster care 26 years ago when I was on drugs. I knocked on her door and introduced myself, going in for a hug. She maced me and physically kicked me back into the hall, threatening a restraining order if I ever spoke to her again, and slammed the door. FML

Your poor life choices probably ruined her life… you can’t be surprised that there’s no happy reunion, and it hurts that you’ll never get to explain yourself or ask her forgiveness, but the best thing you can do is walk away.

YDI. I’m not gonna get on your case about the drugs or the fact your child was removed for her safety. I’m pretty sure you already know how badly you messed up there. It’s the fact that you showed up at her door, expecting instant forgiveness without even bothering to reach out to her first. You should have initiated contact via email, phone, a mutual friend, or some other way to see if she’s even interested in a reunion.

Today, I was wondering why the new book series I'd ordered hadn’t arrived. I ordered new books because my mom constantly bitched at me about being on the internet too often. She took my laptop away to "teach me a lesson". Only I need my laptop to get the confirmation number to track my books. FML

Today, I was offered the job of my dreams until the recruiters had gone through my Twitter account and had seen tweets of me calling another girl a “bitch” and a racial slur during an argument. They rescinded the offer and I’d already quit my last job. FML
