Yes, you share the blame; you're complicit. Your son acts like there are never consequences with you. Be a damn parent and ensure he fulfills his legal financial obligations towards his child before your ex-friend and his daughter sue for it.

Everyone is so quick to blame OP for his son's behavior, but don't forget - it takes two to tango. Unless the girl wasn't willing, there's no crime here. But yes, the son is still a total asshat for irresponsibly getting a girl pregnant and then just abandoning her. This is our future - parents don't parent these days. They put their kids in front of a screen and call it parenting. There is no discipline anymore because parents are afraid of their own kids.
