oh get over it. i was 7 when i drank alcohol the first time. i was really thirsty my mom said dont drink it and i did anyway bc i thought it was soda. she didnt tell me it was alcohol. i took a huge drink and im still alive. im sure the child will be just fine. but op does need to let the parents know just incase.
I'm pretty sure if it was hard liquor, the kid would have spat it out or not drank much before noticing.. I'm sure all was fine
If you didn't know what it was, you should not have given it to her.
she's gonna be in a shitty mood When she wakes up....
It is impossible to tell the difference between a young child that is passed out drunk or one dying from alcohol intoxication. Your solution was to cover up a potentially life threatening situation instead of coming clean. You could very easily have killed that child, and instead of losing your babysitting job ended up in prison for negligent homicide as well as living with the guilt.
pounding a bottle with the kiddos. what a bonding moment
Lucky you didn't kill her
Can someone explain to me why they're thumbing down people who who say the OP could have killed her in trying to cover it up? Because he/she absolutely could have. Mostly because of their size, a nine year old's body can't handle alcohol like an adult's. It's not overly dramatic, it's a fact. Accidentally giving it to the child was a dumb accident, trying to cover it up was irresponsible and dangerous. I would absolutely press charges against a sitter for trying to hide something like that.
#70....Ditto!

That could actually be dangerous. You need to pay attention or find another line of work.
