Today, I went to my orthodontist where I was informed that I'll going to the prom, to my brother's wedding, and maybe to university with braces in my mouth. FML

Having braces doesnt suck.. its normal. But what is GOING to suck is actually wearing them. It HURTS like hell .. your lips get BROKEN inside the mouth. The pain lasts for a week. And then every time u meet orthodontist (every month) its going to hurt AGAIN .. for some days. .. I have braces :D

I have braces and I will be 19 next month. I just got engaged and my fiancé doesn't care. trust me you will be glad when they are off because you will have straight teeth.

Today, I went to my school ball. I walk around with crutches, but left them at home so that I wouldn't ruin any of my photos. Towards the end, my leg felt like it was dying. I took some 'painkillers' a 'friend' gave me. They weren't painkillers, and I went early with difficulty breathing. FML True story, happened to a friend of mine a few weeks ago. That is an FML moment, not "I have to go to my prom with braces on. FML" If you don't want to look bad, smile with your mouth and not your teeth. It's not that hard wearing braces either. So go stfu and go **** yourself, you ignorant, dumbass, bitch!

People over estimate the embarrassment of braces. I got them a year ago and they havn't changed anything so far in my social life. Even though my dentist is a complete wanker

I completely understand how you feel. I am so sorry. I got braces at the end of my 8th grade year, I have to go to highschool with braces & none of my friends have braces. so sorry!!

Presumably, by the time you go to the Prom, you are old enough to refuse medical treatment yourself and ask them to remove the braces. Of course, you might have bad teeth forever but, you will be able to get them taken out.

please get over it. i am on my third time having braces and am about to turn 20. i also have to have major jaw surgery, and i haven't posted anything on fml.

having braces is not the end of the world. trust me, i should know. i've had braces for 7 years - elastics, plates, and major jaw surgery (try having some screws in your gum). no pain, no gain. gotta have braces so you can have nice and straight teeth.

ohmygoshhh! i have to wear braces to prom & possiblyyyy collegeeeeee! what am i gonna dooooo? .......get the **** over it. at least you have braces. many people need them badly, and would love to have them. at least you're getting your teeth fixed. the universe isn't gonna collapse because of some metal on your teeth.
