Today, I went to my orthodontist where I was informed that I'll going to the prom, to my brother's wedding, and maybe to university with braces in my mouth. FML

I had braces for years... many people do.... jeez, get over it princess.

Having braces doesnt suck.. its normal. But what is GOING to suck is actually wearing them. It HURTS like hell .. your lips get BROKEN inside the mouth. The pain lasts for a week. And then every time u meet orthodontist (every month) its going to hurt AGAIN .. for some days. .. I have braces :D

Shut the **** and get over it I had had braces from 2nd to 9th grade with just 5th and 6th without any and that's only the beginning of my orthodontic nightmare... Get the hell over it!

it's not a big deal. it's a long term effect, after that your teeth will be perfect its completely worth it.

Invisalign doesn't work for all dental problems, I'm in the same exact situation as OP and invisalign won't fix what I need it to. The OP's problem isn't getting braces, it's having braces in college and senior year. Braces are more 'acceptable' in junior high, not late teens.

Clear brackets fixes all those "Oh noes I has braces in mah picsss!!" problems. I can't have Invisilign either so I just got clear brackets. They're barely noticeable. I started my senior year with them, went to prom with them, graduated with them and I'll be going to college with them. I should have them on until I'm 19 or 20.

My dentist told me a few months ago that if I dont get braces by my 20's then its going to be harder to move my teeth into place. I'm 17 and my family's insurance is about to expire and even if it wasn't going to expire my family still wouldn't be able to afford it and my mouth is so bad its leading to sinus problems. And your bitching because you have to get braces? Consider yourself lucky. Ungrateful bitch
