Today, I went to my orthodontist where I was informed that I'll going to the prom, to my brother's wedding, and maybe to university with braces in my mouth. FML

Having braces doesnt suck.. its normal. But what is GOING to suck is actually wearing them. It HURTS like hell .. your lips get BROKEN inside the mouth. The pain lasts for a week. And then every time u meet orthodontist (every month) its going to hurt AGAIN .. for some days. .. I have braces :D

Oh boo hoo. I've had braces for 4 1/2 years, and three mouth surgeries to go along with that because of impacted canines. And I'll have to have them for even longer still, because they have to straighten out my teeth that they moved to bring the canines in. So go cry on someone elses shoulder, and get a freaking life. Braces aren't the end of the world; but they'll make your teeth a helluva lot better looking.

Oh, and btw, I wore my braces for every high school dance, every year book photo, my senior pictures, when I was a maid of honor for my sister's wedding, and everything in between those events. Seriously, suck it up.

I had braces during junior prom, all of senior year including prom... and most of my first year of college.... suck it up whiney baby

OMG your life must be over. here is what you need to do. get a hammer and a true friend, have them swing at your mouth until you have no teeth left and then you can have perfect dentures before any socially crippling scene happens with braces! phew! crisis averted.

shit some of these people are bitches.. we get it you've had braces there not that bad whaaaaatever, but do you REALLY enjoy them? would you WANT to have them on at op's age? I don't think anyone does, so stfu cause most of the comments are complaining more then the actual fml. and op, fyl! I just got braces and I effing hate them.

suck it up. I've had mine throughout high school (and yes, grad) and I'm not even close to having them off because the dentist created spaces he has yet to fix. no one will judge you because you have braces. they only suck when it comes to eating.
