This is more than moderately offensive. Most of you who comment nonsense like - FYL you're still living with your parents - are already assuming that he lives in the great old USA or at least a developed country. He could be living in Eastern Europe (as was my case until recently) with his parents, aunts and uncles, grandparents, wife and children in a tiny appartment - not because he chooses to because he could be a university professor and in the same situation, but because the economy is so shit it's impossible to 1. find a job 2. get paid enough to have reasonable purchasing power.

#20 and #27 - He probably got shitfaced at his friends birthday party and came home obnoxious and loud. I'm not trying to assume the worst, but it's naive of you two to assume that he has an "Oh woe is me" story. OP - I wouldn't appreciate someone coming home at 1am making noise so I can't sleep. Your parents let you stay there and whether it was your fault or not you should respect their rules. YDI
