Hey, I never knew astrologists were into the scientific study of space. Does that mean cosmetologists work with celestial mechanics and general relativity?
Actually, to have a degree in Astrology (and yes, accredited universities DO offer this) you must take many astronomy courses as part of it. My sister is working on her Masters and is keenly educated on the night sky. And cosmetology is makeup application.
duh on the cosmetology comment. obviously you don't understand funny sarcasm. don't try to sound smart if you can't even pick up on very obvious things :)
202, the joke just sailed right over your head, didn't it? I love when idiots try to make themselves seem clever.
omgg now this post is a serious win u failed life at its highest rates DIE!!
I agree with #2. If you were smart and had a chance to be on the path towards astronomy, you would know first of all how to say it.
# 9: "And your counselor is right-as two other people pointed out if you love space you want to be an ASTRONAUT. " Shut the **** up. Seriously. It's so easy to make fun of someone when you get the facts explained, isn't it? When you're fascinated with the universe, you become an ASTRONOMER, not an ASTRONAUT. Astronomers do the research. Astronauts just hop around. There's a difference. This goes to all of you pricks. Give the guy some sympathy. Unless he actually means "Astrology" and did that on purpose.
Before you criticize others, please make sure you can distinguish between sexes, OP is a woman. However, agreed, if someone is fascinated by space, astronomer, astronaut, and astrologist seem to fall under the umbrella of appropriate careers.
Agreed that you can be an astronomer and study space without being an astronaut, but no... I don't see how predicting people's fortunes by birthdays and zodiac signs falls under the same umbrella as studying the scientific properties of the stars and space.
Hahahaha. Of course she thought you were stupid, you wanted to be an astrologist (not an astronomer/astronaut/etc.) after talking about your interest in space. It was unprofessional, but she was honest. You half-deserved it.
Studying astrology seems to be right in line with your level of intelligence. Tip: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrology
Listen. I've been wanting to study space since I was 12 as well, and the number one thing that ticks me off is when people call my future career "Astrology". True Astronomers get really annoyed as well as extremely offended when you say they are in the field of Astrology instead of Astronomy. It was rude that your counselor called you stupid, but you need to make sure you call your future career by the correct terminology.
astronomy is the study of the universe. Astrology means you want to predict horoscopes
She may be unprofessional but seriously I don't see how she supposed to react. You ARE stupid, if you don't know difference between astronaut (or astronomer) and astrologist.

Your counselor probably had a point. If you were interested in space you would want to be an astronomer, not an astrologist.
Oh my god, that's horrible.
