she probably just got sick of filling it out. my baby book is more filled out than my younger sister's, because my mom thought it was boring after a while (and trust me, I am not the favorite child). it doesn't mean that she loved the dog more than she loves you.
meant to come in and say exactly what #5 said... #pictures doesnt = TLC
I agree with the others that say that your mom simply didn't have the time to fill out the book. My daughter is 16 months old and there is A LOT missing out of her baby book. I do have a lot of the information, I just haven't actually put it into the baby book though. Raising a child is definitely a lot of work, even if you have the help of your spouse. As for the OP, it is hard to really give an honest opinion about their situation since there is a lot of infomation missing. Was your mom single when she had the dog or was the dog like your mom and dad's child? I know of a lot of pet owners who treat their pet(s) like their child(ren) before they actually have kids. Who also knows if the OP's mom raised the OP all by herself....which would have left even less time for a baby book.
Why were you going through your mother's things?
So? Pets to a LOT of people are family members. Also, taking care of a human child is a TON harder than taking care of a puppy... she probably didnt have the time or the energy to fill in your baby book after having to take care of you, the house and probably a job all day.
That sucks. I don't even have a baby book. My parents also lost my birth certificate.
that's because she was spending a million more hours of toil and sweat and late nights taking care of you, not your baby book.
as many other people have pointed out, a baby takes a lot of work, more than a dog. She probably didn't have time to fill it in. Mine is barely filled in at all. Why? because my parents had to deal with a three year old and two newborns. It doesn't mean she doesn't care about you. Gain a little prospective please.

Your FML seems to be that she loved the dog more, but in reality, she spent more of her time after you were born interacting with you, instead of filling out a stupid scrapbook.
Just because she filled out the dogs book more then yours doesn't mean all that much. At least your mother took the time, and you should realize there's more to life then a couple dozen photographs. Also, babies aren't the same as dogs, meaning that babies are more demanding and (should) require more time and effort then a pet. I don't think this is really an FML.
