Today, I learned I'm not allergic to gluten. My mom has kept me on a gluten-free diet since I was 5. She was convinced I was allergic to it. I'm 25 and I am writing this over my first slice of pizza in 20 years. FML

Celiac? If so then you aren't "allergic" to gluten but if you eat gluten it corrodes your intestines heightening the risk of cancer. I have never had anything with wheat or gluten in it.

You do realize that you can still eat pizza if you are gluten intolerant/Celiac/etc, right? You just have to eat gluten free pizza. It's easy to find.

That doesn't mean you aren't gluten intolerant. You'll find that out when the wheat hits you and causes the suffering. Gluten is not easily digestible. It's easier to just avoid it. Plus chains like Mellow Mushroom carry GF pizza. :)

You can still have siliac (alergic to gluten) and it not get sick instantly.. But if you have a whole bunch you can have a huge stomach ache the next day

That's not good...People who aren't gluten intolerant can have serious health problems if they eat gluten-free food, especially for a long period of time. Your mom should have made sure it was healthy before doing that to you.
