How could you do this to me?

Today, I learned I'm not allergic to gluten. My mom has kept me on a gluten-free diet since I was 5. She was convinced I was allergic to it. I'm 25 and I am writing this over my first slice of pizza in 20 years. FML

Wow my mom did pretty much the same thing when I was growing up!

Dominos makes gluten free pizza

So...I'm not allergic to gluten, but I'm intolerant to it. Same with my son and husband. We're all gluten-free by choice because we just feel better if we don't consume it. If you find you feel like crap after consuming gluten, read the book Wheat Belly to discover why. I've been GF for nearly five years now.

Congratulations on not being allergic!

To be fair, lots of studies to suggest gluten is reaaallly really bad for us!

Enjoy it, my friend, you have surely missed out!!

so happy for you OP! i hate people who avoid good and tasty things just because they *might* be allergic to it, even worse when they do it to their kids. i hope you enjoy the pizza, and may it be the first of many to come :-) P.S. take it easy at first; don't eat a whole pizza in one sitting. P.P.S. small time local pizza joints have much better quality pizza than the big franchises such as Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Papa John's, Little Caesar's, etc.

There are people all over the world who has never even seen pizza, let alone taste it. And some of those would just be glad there's food of any kind, gluten-free or not. I'm sure your mom was doing what she thought was the best for you and wanted to keep you safe.
