Today, I got into a heated argument at a restaurant with a guy I am seeing because he refused to let me pay for the bill and I thought it was sexist. When he finally agreed, I gave the waiter my card, only to have him return a minute later telling me it was declined. FML

Today, I went on a date with a guy who seemed to be quite the gentleman. I was proven wrong when he told me to "shut it" during dinner, stiffed me on the bill, and then left me at the restaurant so he could get his own taxi home. FML

Today, I was on a first date. When the bill came, he refused to pay for my $6 salad. I had to go ATM-hunting to pay for my $6 salad. FML

Today, a guy invited me to a first date at a new restaurant. I was going to pay my way, but when he saw how steep the bill was, he insisted that I pay for his meal too, to prove I'm a "real feminist". FML

Today, I went on a date that went well, until the bill came and she quickly shoved it in my direction, then went to the loo. Rude, but I thought nothing of it… until our waiter took pity and told me I’m the fourth guy she’s had this week who'd been made to pay for her. I paid half, then went home. FML

Today, I went on a dinner date with the guy I like. He ate all his food then started eating off my plate, going on to eat over half of my food. When the bill came, he made me pay for it. FML

Today, I went to a restaurant with my boyfriend. After dessert, he went to the bathroom so I quickly called the waiter over and paid the bill, thinking it was a nice gesture. When he returned, he broke up with me for "emasculating" him. FML

YDI, im a guy and iv offered to pay dinner for my date plenty of times.. and most of the time i get resistence the whole way... it kinda sucks lol.

Heels would hurt, sneakers would be too masculine, and flip-flops would be inappropriate to a kitchen, plus its to show off how dainty and pretty the woman's feet are. Just a guess. Also, if she explained to him how uncomfortable it would be for her to let him pay just because she wants to make a point; don't you think he'd be just as uncomfortable being emasculated by letting her pay due to her feeling he's sexist if he doesn't do so? The argument of either of them being uncomfortable is null and void.

Essay time! This woman could HARDLY be considered a feminist. She is just very stubborn and stupid. People like you, (and the majority of the comments) are the reason to why "feminism" carries such a negative connotation (and idiot-women who call themselves feminists). I target you specifically because you seem intelligent. You associate idiot-women with a formerly maverick and respectable cause. Stop it! Feminism didn't stop chivalry, it's mostly due to idiots that don't appreciate generosity because they think that puts their independence in jeopardy (it doesn't, they are just dumb), and lazy inconsiderate men. And those idiots are just idiots and not feminists. A REAL feminist would have pulled some cutesy stunt like, "Oh, you spend too much on me, let me pay for once" or something like that because REAL feminists are smart enough to decipher what is TRULY SEXIST on his part and what could be considered gold digging on her part (which feminist don't do...i think).
