Today, my girlfriend and I went down to the pier. I brought an empty bottle and some paper, and we both constructed a massive letter expressing our passionate love for each other. We stuck it in the bottle, and threw it out to sea, only to see it explode in slow motion on a protruding rock. FML

Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend on my boat at the lake. As we were looking at the mountains all around us, she playfully pushed me off the side into the water. As I got back on the boat, I realized that not only was my cellphone dead, but the ring had fallen into the deep water. FML

Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. When she saw the ring, she got so excited that she ran to kiss me and it flew out of my hand, over the balcony of our suite, and fell roughly 45 stories straight down. I could feel my wallet screaming as a £4000 diamond vanished into the night. FML

oh my, that's such a FML! i don't know what would I do if something like that happened to me! a bottle with your letter is destroyed :( I'm really sorry!!! i mean, what the hell, somebody's dog dies or their parents tell them they don't love them! that is nothing compared to a broken bottle!

Everyone whos saying this is stupid has a stick up their ass. There's nothing wrong with doing something cute and romantic with your girlfriend, and when you try to and something like that happens, it's a FML because that pretty much ruins the mood. You all think it sucks when someone says something to ruin sex right? So things can't be romantic unless you're acting like animals? Jeez. I'm sorry OP, try again :) and throw it somewhere away from rocks...

Agree with 53. Any ass who thinks this is dumb will never get with a girl :/ No offense but I think most girls find this incredibly sweet. And it is an FML because they spent time writing a sweet letter and then the mood was totally destroyed by the bottle shattering. Also, the slow-mo thing is probably just a figure of speech, not meant literally. Wow posters, FYL for making up crap just to say YDI.
