Today, while running on the treadmill at the gym, the girl next to me slipped and went flying back against the wall. Indecisive whether to get off and help her or to just keep going, I lost my focus and footing and flew back next to her. FML

Why did you have to think about helping her? If someone flies off a treadmill imagine how much of an asshole you would look like if you didn't at least ask if they were okay. YDI.

As someone else pointed out, in those kind of situations NOT acknowledging what happened may actually be the best move. It would be terribly humiliating already to be thrown off a treadmill at the gym and to have other people witness it. Perhaps the OP was trying to be kind by not adding insult to injury so to speak.
