Today, my boss quit, leaving me as the only structural engineer at my company. I'm fresh out of college and will have to finish the projects on my own. Hope Google can teach me how to do this. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
I got this!
Today, my boss quit his job and stopped coming in without warning. Guess who just inherited his tasks and responsibilities without the training or pay associated with his manager role. I was hired last year as a junior system admin. FML
Today, I was informed that- despite an already skeletal staff- my supervisor is leaving the company. Tomorrow. FML
Rage against the machine
Today, I've been working towards a management position at my IT job for 9 years. My boss quit, so I thought, "This is my chance!" Nope, our department got outsourced and now I'm interviewing for my own job on Monday. FML
Emergency
Today, I got an email from the person I'm supposed to start an internship with next week, saying they're leaving the company. This has been planned since October and will be a year long. Now I have to try to sort things out as quickly as possible if I want to graduate on time. FML
Welcome to capitalism, baby
Today, after spending months building my boss 3 websites and finishing them, I was fired via a short email, saying she didn't need my help anymore. I only worked for her for 3 months, so basically I stopped being useful when I finished her websites. FML
Great news!
Today, I started a new job. After being trained on several obscure computer programs I'm expected to use in just one day, my new boss informed me she's going on a week long vacation starting tomorrow. She's the only other person who knows how this program runs. FML
Today, my boss hired a new meat cutter because our old one stopped showing up for work. After he put the smock on, I told him what needed to be done. Without saying a word, he walks over to my boss, hands him his smock and says, "I quit." Guess I'm on my own. FML
Phasing out
Today, I just started working in my core job domain, and all the guys working with me are giving up on their their jobs, because there's no future for it. It sucks being a mechanical design engineer in a country full of IT companies who just want us to convert. FML
Now hiring
Today, it's my first day as the boss, after waiting months for this promotion. Today is also the day my replacement, who I trained for three months, quit. Now I've got two jobs for the price of one. FML
Today, my boss gave me a new assignment at work: go online and look for my own replacement, then interview him. FML

Being the only one, you would be considered the head of structural engineering, correct? So request a meeting with the heads of your company and talk about hiring some new recruits, or at least sending you to a proper training.

Well its the company's responsibility to give you training so maybe talk to the CEO or the head of company

I doubt she'd have to go as high as the CEO.

Maybe you can find another company or demand a raise. You could also try to hire another more experienced person to help you

I imagine your degree knowledge will kick in soon enough, in the meantime talk to your boss's boss and ask about hiring a replacement for him, explaining that you're inexperienced, and if you and your old boss had a good relationship perhaps contact him and ask for advice?

Only one way to gain experience! Jump in the deep end! But Good luck op I'm sure your training will get you through, if you get overloaded maybe look to find a mentor in the industry that can give you advice.

You would be surprised how informative Google is; when I was a software dev apprentice I used it all the time. For all the cruelty on the Internet the community can be really helpful sometimes

On the upside, think about how good you'll look to the higher-ups if you can pull it off.

On the upside this means that you have the chance to be the new boss of that company just work at it and I'm sure that you will achieve
