Today, I woke up at 7, got to college by 7:40 to receive an email that my 8:00 a.m. class got cancelled. I stayed there until 12:00 p.m. for my second class, to then find out that the cancelled class was the one at 12:00, not 8:00. FML

Today, my professor cancelled class so I turned off my alarm. When I woke up, I checked my email again. There was no email from my professor. It was a dream. FML
Today, I had to get to class at 9:00 to take a test. I woke up at 6:00, and figured I could wait a few minutes before getting ready. The next thing I knew, it was 10:30. FML
Today, I got up and walked to college for my only class which started at 9 a.m. after a night of restless sleep. Our exam is two weeks away, so I thought it would be better to attend. Apparently, my teacher thought differently. FML
Today, I drove to my college campus for my 8 a.m. class, parked, walked the mile and a half to my classroom, just to find out class had been cancelled. The prof didn't send an email because she couldn't remember her password. I paid $1200 to be taught by this woman, who has a doctorate. FML
Today, I showed up to work at 6am, only to find out the schedule was changed. I wasn't actually supposed to be there until 9:15. My boss never told me this. I didn't get to go home either, he just said, "Oh well. Get to work." FML
Today, I had to go meet my professor at 12. I wound up showing up almost an hour late. Why? Because she doesn't teach at the campus I registered at. I wound up having to visit TWO different campuses before I reached the right one. FML
Today, I woke up at 5 and studied for my 9:30am exam for 4 hours. When I left my dorm at 9, it was dark outside. Turns out I slept through the entire day and woke up at 5pm. FML
Today, I overslept and missed both of my morning classes. I was supposed to lead an instructional discussion in my communications class that was worth a lot of points. Now my grade has dropped from an A to an F. FML
Today, I woke up at 5:30 and made the half hour drive to work only to find out that it was my day off. After finally getting back home and into bed, my boss called, requesting that I come back to work since I was "already up". FML
Today, I drove 3 hours to get to a class, just to have the professor leave a note on the classroom door saying that she wasn't coming. FML

There's not too much you can do about it now. Find a friend in your 8am and copy some notes!

Exactly! Perfect answer! In my classes we had a day by day syllabus so if we missed that particular day we at least knew what pages of the material we covered and then, yes, always get notes from someone who attended! No biggie! It happens, and has a simple solution :)

It's actually how my math teacher approaches it as well. Doesn't matter if you miss you get notes from friends and go in for extra help if needed. Good to know that she's actually prepping us for college life.

Most professors don't care about attendance, so don't worry about it, you can find out from a classmate what you missed. If you happen to a small university and have a particularly attentive professor, just try explaining what happened. Most of the ones that are attentive enough to care about attendance are understanding as long as their students are making an effort.

Lol, my clinicals are at 8am. I have a 2 hour trip to get there too. I've had 7:30am classes too. Long days. I'm heading to clinicals as I write this.

The only reason I have 7/8AM classes is because everyone fights for the later classes, leaving the morning classes as the only options.

I always took 8:00 am classes- it meant I was usually done with class by 1, had the rest of the day to be involved in clubs, get homework/studying done AND be in bed by 11 :)
