Today, I was pretending to talk on the phone with my wife just to avoid to speak with my boring coworker. After two awkward minutes of him waiting in front of my desk and me inventing a call, he handed me the disconnected phone cable and left. FML

Cel phones were invented for this express purpose- not as the luxury and convenience devices that people generally assume. It is because there is no tell tale cord to become unplugged; no audible dial tone; no possible way for the co-worker to tell you are not really conducting a conversation. Unless, of course, you forget to mute the ringer... This was also the reason your index finger was invented. Not just to point with, or stick in the peanut butter jar, but to hold up in the air, and signal co-workers that you are busy, and to 'hold on' for just a minute or two, or ten-

can't wait to see this post tomorrow: Today I needed to talk to a co-worker about a very important project that our boss wanted us to work on together. The asshat pretended to talk to his wife. I know he was pretending because his phone was unplugged. I completed the project all by myself and got a big bonus. FHL
