Today, I was having a conversation with my mother during which I described something as being pungent. She thought I had made up the word, so I grabbed the dictionary to show her that I hadn't. She then became enraged, threw the dictionary at my head and told me never to talk to her again. FML

Your mother insulted my religion! Pungent is one of the Five Basic Elements of Discordianism (Sweet, Boom, Pungent, Prickle and Orange). Your comment reminded me of a Chinese term (forgot its name) that is used to describe an explosion of flavor in one bite. Ex: We've all had sweet and sour chicken. But if you pay close attention, you would notice its ingredients also includes-- green bell peppers for the bitter taste and pineapple for the sweet taste etc... It is designed to hit all those flavors you were describing or I "think" you were describing. Haha :P (:

Put on a helmet and call her an "ignoramus." Tell her that talking to her dulls your brain as you are restricted to a third-grade vocabulary (assume a defensive posture when you say "vocabulary.")
