Today, I was diagnosed with migraines. Any loud sounds or bright lights make it worse. I'm the drummer for a heavy metal band, so I now have to choose between really bad migraines or a career. FML

Today, I got a migraine. I work in an arcade with lots of bright lights, loud noises and screaming children. I was stuck in there for 7 hours. FML
Today, while suffering from a serious migraine. I have to cook dinner and listen to the singing of two very tone deaf individuals. I'm starting to contemplate sticking forks in my ears. FML
Today, I learned that pregnancy makes me more prone to migraines, but the only pain killer I can take makes me vomit. So I have to choose between being in pain and vomiting for hours on end. FML
Today, like every day since my diagnosis, I've had to choose between two impossible options. Either I deal with debilitating headaches where I cannot focus, or I feel so drowsy that I cannot focus. My finals are in a week and I can't study. FML
Today, I woke up with a skull-splitting headache. I braved the wind and freezing temperatures to get to work. Today is also the day my boss thought it would be cute to let the elementary school band play at our office. FML
Today, I came to work with a huge hangover after a night out. I work as a marching band director, and guess who I had to conduct a sectional with? That's right, percussion. My head still hasn't stopped throbbing. FML
Today, I went to a concert for the first time in 5 years. I got all dressed up and even ended up hanging out with the band. The night came to a screeching halt when I got a migraine and ended up in the ER vomiting non-stop. I was in the hospital all night. FML
Today, I was forced to come in to work early in the morning. For me, that means I will have a pounding migraine, vomiting, and diarrhea for at least the next two weeks. FML
Today, after pushing myself really hard all week to find a new job, I was looking forward to having a nice relaxing weekend with my family. Nope, I got a migraine and can barely function, but also can't sleep. FML
Today, after two weeks of migraines, my doctor informed me that bowel movements are one my triggers. This means every time I shit, I will have a headache. FML

You should always out your health before most things! Remember that you only have one body, while you can have multiple careers. Fyl though, and I hope the medications are effective :) I have heard that migraines are horrible to say the last, so good luck in the future, always a lot of options left.

So what you're saying is you currently have a career that you would have to give up due to said migraines? Or, you hope to some day have a career and the migraines are hindering your possible, however unlikely future career?

I'd say get your health sorted out first. I'm 14 and have had the most painful migraines for over 4 years now. Don't let it get any worse, trust me, it isn't worth it..

Actually, I took time off school as school had a major factor towards the overall effects of my migraines (the two hour long travels to and from school, stress, piles of homework and tests to study for, etc), plus taking meds actually helped and lessened them at the time. I had to continue my studies, of course, and now I have migraines everyday haha not so great, but def worked at the time, so I can see your point, but.. taking time away from the things causing you significant amounts of pain can definitely help, and the longer you work on it, the longer the pain stays away. Yeah maybe it won't work for him because all sorts of things cause headaches and migraines and every situation is completely different but come on now...

They invented migraine medication for a reason. And if you were diagnosed with migraines your doctor should have prescribed you something.

Migraine medication does not always work, and there are so many different types it will cost ridiculous amounts to find one that 'may' work

Actually u dont, ummmm what type of migraines if they are muscle tension migraines then then get frequent massages, if they are other types get on an antiepileptic medication at a low dose. Go see a neurologist so you can set it up. Wear ear plugs in the meanwhile and do not snap ur neck
