Today, I took my dog to the vet because he hadn't eaten his food in three days, was drinking a lot of water, and was peeing a lot (all signs of antifreeze poisoning). I spent $200 at the vet to tell me that my dog is fine and just didn't like his current food. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, after being worried for a week because my dog wasn't eating, I paid the vet $120 for her to tell me that my dog doesn't like her dog food. FML
Today, I rushed my dog to the vet because he was foaming at the mouth. I returned home with a bill for $200 and a dog who apparently has a thing for marshmallows. FML
Today, my dog ate my little brother's medication. I spent all morning trying to make him throw it up, but it wasn't working so I took him to the animal hospital, which was in a different city. $150 in poison control and vet bills later, I found the pill we thought he ate stuck under his paw. FML
Far out, man
Today, after seeing my cat struggle to use the litterbox and produce nothing for two days, I caved and took him to the emergency vet, fearing a UTI. It wasn't. $200 and 2 Lyft rides later, he's stoned out of his mind and peeing just fine. FML
Today, I found out my dog is allergic to all forms of animal. His new vegetarian food is $90 a bag, and he refuses to eat it. FML
It's about time
Today, I was in the car with my mom taking the dog to the vet, when he peed on me. We were taking him there because he hadn't peed in three days. FML
Today, after spending $15,000 to treat my dog's cancer over the past two months, he died of kidney failure. FML
Today, I finally realized why my 9-week-old puppy was going to the bathroom so much. I went to pick up the food bag and realized she had chewed a hole in the bottom, and eaten half of the bag in the last 4 days. Goodbye 30 pounds of dog food, and 100$ for a vet visit. FML
Today, I took my dog back to the vet because her face was completely swollen and her stomach was bright red and blotchy. It's obviously the medication she just started, but my vet doesn't believe dogs have allergic reactions. It's the only vet in the area. FML
Today, I splurged thousands of dollars on the breed of dog that I've loved since I was a kid from a reputable breeder. He is allergic to all food except the 24lb food for $70 and has sensitivities galore, including a seizure from a shot. I've spent $5,000 in vet bills in the first week. FML

That also could have been a sign of diabetes, so you did the right thing!

68- Parvo typically involves vomiting and bloody diahrrea and lethargy, not drinking excessively.

This comment thing pisses me off. First it posts too early, then not at all, then a post gets deleted, then posts twice.... MY APOLOGIES! Anyway as I was trying to write above, YES kittyrose I was talking to someone who posted a question about their cat. I am a licensed vet nurse and pretty well educated on the subject matter, but thanks for trying to call me out, appreciate that. oh and agreed with Lepisma; the symptoms stated in the OP are nothing at all like parvo, which usually only affects unvaccinated puppies, which I think I posted somewhere above but now it's disappeared!

It was a spoof of a WMM error ("One or more of your arguments were invalid") and an homage to the site. And technically it was an "argument" given that you were going against Rachalynia by pointing out OP was talking about a dog. Dictionary: ar·gu·ment (är'gyə-mənt) 1. a.A discussion in which disagreement is expressed; a debate. b.A quarrel; a dispute. 2. a.A course of reasoning aimed at demonstrating truth or falsehood b.A fact or statement put forth as proof or evidence; a reason Those definitions could apply. A statement can be an argument, too, by the way [indicates last definition].

Ah, well. At least your doggy is okay. One of the best cats I ever had died from antifreeze poisoning because our jackass neighbor dumped a big puddle of it in the road (and apparently it tastes very sweet to cats and dogs so they lap that shit up). Pooooooor Ricky.

Actually those are all signs of diabetes. i'd get a second opinion.

Hmm.. youknow a normal person would first give the dog new food, secondly research it online and in books... try that next time you feel like over-reacting and getting urself a big vet fee

my dog had a tumor in her stomach and it burst.. her symptoms were going off her food and drnking.. and after the third day she was very bloated, but there was too much damage and the vet said if we brought her in as soon she went of her food he could of saved her

As a veterinary nurse and seeing very sick animals all the time i think you should be glad your dog is ok =) also the tests the vet would have done would have picked up renal problems/ liver problems/ diabetes etc. so to every one else. stop stressing the guy out

Commercial dog food is full of preservatives. Google about dog food. Educate yourself.

Thats what you get for trying to be smart and "googling" symptoms. And in regards for the $200 vet bill. If you really cared about your dog's health (even if there was nothing wrong) you wouldve spent as much as needed without fussing about it and then putting it on FML.
