Today, I took a flight from Seattle to Oregon but missed my flight back home to California because the flight attendant came in late and delayed our flight take off time. Then I was told the only way to get California was to go back to Seattle and fly to California from there. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Been around the world and I, I, I, I can't find my luggage
Today, I called an airline to try to locate a bag I left on a flight. When I told the phone rep which airport I flew into, he asked me what city it was in. He paused after I told him, then asked me what state Seattle is in. I don't think I'll be getting my bag back. FML
Today, I was at the airport getting ready to go to Hawaii. The guy at the counter said my flight was delayed. It turns out that the flight that was delayed was a flight going to Miami. My flight left at the regular time, and my luggage was on it, because I checked in the night before. FML
Today, I went to bed at noon after having driven 11 hours from Washington to Maine. I missed my flight due to a delayed plane, and was told there were no open flights the next 2 days. I'd been driving my $200 rental car for 1.5 hrs when the airport told me, over the phone, that there was in fact a flight available. FML
Wait and see
Today, I was on a flight home. I wasn't going to arrive until midnight, so I was offered an earlier flight that got back at ten. I got to baggage claims and it turned out they lost my bag. I sat there for 2 hours. The people on my original flight left for home before I did. FML
Delayed
Today, to avoid a massive delay on our scheduled flight at the airport, we were generously moved to an earlier flight home. An hour later, our new flight had been cancelled and they told us we'd be stuck at the airport overnight. Our original flight took off fine. FML
Long haul
Today, my flight from China to Moscow arrived late, making me miss my next transfer flight back home to Ireland. I had to wait for 24 hours for the next flight, without food vouchers, without a free hotel room, and without a free plane ticket that the airport was suppose to give. FML
Today, I woke up at 3am to catch my flight back home, only to realize that my flight was pushed back 14 hours. FML
Today, I waited patiently in the airport as my flight was repeatedly delayed. After 5 long hours I approached one of the attendees to discover that the plane had left 5 minutes ago. FML
Missed
Today, I'm anxious traveler who's flying by myself. My first flight got delayed due to one issue after another. This caused me to miss my connection. There are no more flights today so I'm having to stay overnight which, by the way, the airline won't pay for. FML
Today, I was flying home to Milwaukee after a weekend in South Carolina. When I got to the airport, my reservation didn't match up with any flights. Turns out Expedia booked me on a flight that doen't exist. I spent ten hours waiting in the airport for a two hour flight. FML

Make the flight attendant rent a car and drive you to California. That’s only fair.

Same thing happened to my husband and myself when we were flying from Texas to North Carolina with a layover. One of the flight attendants overslept by an hour. We knew we were going to miss the layover so we went to the staff before we ever boarded in Texas to explain they would need to reschedule us on another flight once we reached our layover, and they swore to us up and down that we would make the scheduled layover no problem. The pilot would just fly "faster." I said it's already an hour late and making that layover would break the laws of physics, but they insisted. Sure enough, we missed the layover, and because they didn't reschedule us when we asked, we were stuck 12 hours at an airport that was about a 2 hour drive away from our destination. The airline wouldn't compensate for our flight or even for a rental car, they didn't do jack or all for us even though it was entirely the fault of their staff.

Yeah... that's not how flights work.

Actually, it depends. I was flying to Montana one time and I flew out of Portland OR to San Francisco, to Montana.

Probably flying Alaska Air. They do have flights like that. Sometimes I’ll fly home to AK from Vegas and some of their flights will go thru Seattle, back to Portland, and continuing to AK.

Yeah America is bullshit when it comes to Airline liability. They can cost you hundreds of dollars and don't have to do shit for it. We need laws more like Europe has, but America is owned by Corporations 100%.

Why don’t you just fly from Seattle to California?

wow, americans get shafted. whenever there is a delay of a flight that has a layover, the airline reschedules any layovers on the next available flight, might have to wait a while, but at least you get home. seems like MURICA doesn't care
