Today, I told my mom about the rough time I'm having over my recent break-up, and how I can't help thinking about my ex every single day. Her attempt to console me involved saying, "Pft. I bet he doesn't think about you every day" and walking away. Thanks. FML

Well at least now you're thinking of how much of a bitch she is instead of being depressed about your ex boyfriend

Perhaps what she was trying to say was that you shouldn't be wasting your time thinking about someone who doesn't want to be with you because you deserve better than that. Or maybe your mom is just a bitch.

I am sure he thinks of you to :)

That is completely unhelpful, encouraging this poor girl to think the ex cares for her is like telling someone whose car battery is dead,"try to turn it over again, I'm sure it will work this time" - it messes up the ignition and makes matters worse...

Moms are always there to help Said no one ever!

I don't think she was trying to consolidate you, OP.

Console? I guess you can blame that on autocorrect.

You'll get over him OP.

Mom was using reverse psychology. As a result you would make a point of not thinking about him by keeping your mind occupied with other things thus minimizing the pain of the beak-up.

I actually think that's a great advice, she's just trying to tell you not to waste time on a guy that probably doesn't even care about you ATM...

I'm sure he thinks about you OP. Everything happens for a reason, you'll look back and feel silly down the road. Keep on trucking!

Tough love maybe?

Ahhahahaah owned.
