Today, I overheard my mother trying to convince my brother that it's okay that our aunt and uncle are also step-brother and step-sister. This sprouted from an earlier discussion of how it's normal for people to be related multiple ways, like with us and our cousins. FML

<p>OP here (I didn't hook my email when I orginally submitted)</p> <p>To clarify, my aunt and uncle were married with kids before they became step-sister and brother. My grandmother died (my uncle's mother), and coincidentially my aunt's mother had been widowed for some time. My grandfather (my uncle's father) married my aunt's mother. I just still think it is hella weird, but we just joke about it when we meet around for the holidays.</p>

<p>The creepy factor on this depends on the situation. Were they envolved before they became step siblings? Were they raised in different households? Not really creepy. If they were rasied in the same household from a very young age then its kinda ceepy.</p> <p>I know of a couple that were married year before their parent got married.</p>

As long as they aren't blood related then it's all well and good. Hell, the only reason blood related family members can't breed or marry is due to there being a strong possibility of bad genetics and deformities. Not really because it's "disgusting" That's just society assuming it's bad without doing any research and basing it off of word of mouth. Which is not a good thing and leads to a a lot of misinformation about many aspects of life.

I had a situation like that in my family. My uncle was dating a woman, his father and her mother were single and me through them. Funny thing is grandpa married the woman's mom before my uncle married the woman. Also grandpa's marriage lasted longer (woman's mom wasn't a cheating bitch)

look, I'll say it. incest is not too bad when there isn't a super close line. real brother and sister? no. cousins? not as bad. aunt and nephew? not horrible. I mean, incest is never great from a biological standpoint, but its not horrible if "done" right. step siblings aren't even incest. neither are double cousins (google it).
