Today, after years of hard work, I had an interview at the highest ranking university in the world 800 miles from where I live. It snowed heavily for the last 2 days closing every road, railway, and airport causing me to miss the interview. There is no rescheduling. FML

Today, I had a job interview. I got there as quick as I could, having to travel two hours into a city I'd never been to. When I arrived, they told me I was turned down for being too late. They'd rescheduled the interview an hour earlier and I wasn't notified of the change. FML
Today, I travelled cross-country to interview for my dream job. The team seemed to love me and I had a lot of fun. In the airport on the way home I saw a news report that the company is closing. FML
Today, after three and a half years of working dead-end jobs with a bachelor's degree, I got a call from a potential employer in my degree field, who wanted to set up an interview. The problem: the interview is across the country, and I'm too broke to pay the travel expenses. FML
Today, I had my last assessment for my university degree in the form of an interview at 11am. Without doing this interview, I can't graduate. The interviewer was a no show. FML

Today, the director of my university decided to cancel all my attendance until now, as I was unable to attend the inauguration program in my university. I was unable to attend the program because the area I had to travel to was flooded and one of the trains I was supposed to travel on caught fire. FML
Today, wanting to be on time for my first job interview, I woke up at the crack of dawn and walked almost an hour through a thunderstorm. When I arrived, I was told that the manager wasn't in today, because of the bad weather. FML

I think that's rather unlikely to be honest, and if they did tell you that then I would be having some serious words. I had an interview for Cambridge yesterday in the UK and they were incredibly accomodating to applicants that couldn't get in from even 20 miles away.

My bro is at a uni interview and just about got his flight before the snow came. The airport closed half an hour later! If he missed it the letter said there would be no rescheduling, so fyl op :(

If it is Cambridge you're talking about, it's no better than any other University. They just have higher pass rates because they only accept the best. You could study somewhere else and pass all the same.

I go to Cambridge, and it is a whole other level of difficulty in terms of the work you have to do. There is a reason different universities have different reputations. As for OP, I highly doubt that. They should be able to interview you by phone etc if you can't make it.
