Today, I was shopping when I overheard a woman telling an employee that she was buying an iPad for her 5-year-old son. Annoyed, I turned around and ranted about how he should have more age appropriate toys. Then she explained that her son is autistic and will be using the iPad to communicate. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I was at the park with my autistic son when I noticed a teenage girl imitating him by flapping her hands and walking on her toes. Fed up with children mocking my son, I went over and sternly lectured the girl's mother. Turns out, her daughter is autistic too and will be in my son's class. FML
Today, during an hour-long drive, my sister told me she's lost her "faith in humanity", because one of her friends bought his 8-year-old son an iPad. She uses this stupid expression all the time, and I got so pissed off that I forgot to brake at a red light, rear-ending the car in front of us. FML
Today, we got my dad an iPad for his birthday. I had to repeatedly reassure him that he could in fact touch the screen without being shocked. FML
Today, I had to deal with a lady who claimed her son was autistic to try and skip the queue. Even her son was saying he’s not autistic, and she was screaming in his face that yes he was. I happen to be genuinely autistic. Security threw her out, and I was jealous that I didn’t get to do it. FML
Today, after saving up for weeks, I bought myself an iPad. Because mine is better than the one my parents bought my ten-year-old brother, he got pissed and threw it into our pool. I'm now grounded for getting angry and calling him a bastard in the aftermath. FML
Today, on Thanksgiving, I asked my kid what she is thankful for. "My tablet." I had just told her I was thankful for her. FML
Today, I was at work handling the cash register. It wasn't working correctly, so I apologized to the woman I was waiting on for the delay and explained, "The cash register's being a little retarded today." Then I noticed her clearly "special" adult son standing behind her. FML
Today, my mother-in-law visited. She saw my 5-year-old son rip open a chip bag, causing chips go everywhere. She got up in his face and started screaming at him about how he has an "attitude problem". He doesn't, he's autistic and genuinely has trouble with food packaging. FML
Today, I told my son he couldn't have a toy. He threw a fit, looked me in the eye, and screamed, "Daddy's right! You are a bitch!" The whole store was watching. FML
Today, I was interviewing a woman for a job. She told me that she may need days off because of her artistic son. I jokingly replied, "Does he color on the walls or something?" She then stared at me with a weird look on her face. Autistic, her son is autistic. FML

I can understand where OP is coming from; the amount of children these days with electronics that they a) have no idea how to use and b) don't deserve is appalling. And even though OP should've restrained him/herself from making an uneducated conclusion, autism isn't an everyday thing and its not OP's fault for making a rude comment. My little sister has autism, and the lady who snapped at OP, instead of snapping, should've been a little kinder about her response, seeing as autism is neither common nor completely understood. There is a lot wrong with how the autistic child's mother reacted; if the same thing happened to me, I would've taken the opportunity to create another tolerant and educated person since there is nothing wrong with being autistic. It's simply another type of brain/consciousness. This shouldn't have been an FML, it should've been a learning experience. >>check out the neurodiversity movement

Yeah, I don't understand why lil kids even need phones, cause who are they gonna talk to, and if they wanna play games, get em an itouch I guess or a gameboy, but does it seriously piss you off enough that you felt you had to turn around and insert yourself into a situatioon you weren't part of? Sorry but that just makes you an asshole

Sometimes I wish I could say things to people but I don't. I work at gamestop and had a lady come in to get her 5 year old a blue 3ds because she threw the black one in the toilet. She didn't want the black one she wanted blue! I wanted to punch her in the face, so I understand, but it's not your place to say anything.
