Our Kansas
Today, my son waited until the night before he had a presentation on Arkansas due to tell me about it. We (meaning me, alone) stayed up until 3 am making a topographical map of the state out of plaster and drywall. At 8 a.m., a half hour after he got on the bus, I found it laying on his bed. FML

Should have let him face the consequences of not doing it himself.

Should have let him take the L. He's not gonna learn consequences if you save him

The other comments already drove home the point, so I'm just gonna say what you should do in the future WHEN something like this happens again: don't do the assignment for him, and let him go explain to his teacher why he didn't do the assignment.

Why did you help him? It's his assignment, therefore his job and responsibility. And if he's old enough to give class presentations, he's definitely old enough to know better and understand consequences.

You should’ve made HIM stay up and do it. Sounds like a ‘him’ problem. He should’ve been responsible and prepared, or got a well deserved “F” on the assignment. Kids these days will never learn because of parents like you that don’t make their kids learn from their own actions🤷🏻♂️
