Never assume

Today, I was working and a woman wanted to pay with a credit card. It already had a picture on the card so you don't have to ask for i.d., and just glancing at it. I asked, "Oh, is this your husband's card?" She then replied, "No, that's just me with glasses and short hair." FML

Was her name bychance Susan Boyle? Haha, I'm sorry, that was low. She's a good sport. Just hideous.

And that's why you never ever, make personal comments during small talk to customers. No matter how little they may seem.

FHL! It was a mistake, you should've told her to update her picture on the card.

#1: Who's Susan Boyle? OP: Lmao, ahha. No more chitchat for you, eh?

Damn, FHL for looking like a dude. That's just ******* unnatural.

#12, http://www.usmagazine.com/files/susan-boyle-b_3.jpg lol, if I'm even allowed to post that.

#3 has it. Never. Make comments about peoples photos. I learned that the hard was too.

Why would you ask such a stupid question...

That would suck, but like someone else said, she is bound to get questions if she doesn't look like the picture.

Dam was she that ugly or something.

You could've said that she looked androgenous and some of the most beautiful people are androgenous.... That could've-possibly-just-maybe-would've-worked- lol

@ 6 - I personally know that CitiBank has been doing it for at least 5 years, but I've heard of other companies as well. It's becoming more and more common as identity theft is rising. OP: #3 makes a terrific point, although so does the poster above me because you do in fact need to ask if it doesn't match - but I also have to ask - why would you not look at the NAME to just double-check before making a comment like that??
