Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my girlfriend, who I’ve been madly in love with for 18 months, left me for some guy she met two weeks ago. I was planning to propose to her next week. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. Why? Her six year-old likes me more than her. I hate kids. I stayed with her in spite of her son, because I love her. For some reason she thought I was going to leave her and take her kid with me, so she broke up with me first. FML
Today, a week after my girlfriend of 6 years checked herself into a rehab program 5 hours away, she called me and said I was too much of a toxic enabler and not good for her mental health, so she ended it and I have to move out before she gets home. I was going to propose when she came home. I’m completely broken. FML
Today, my girlfriend of 2 months found out she was 4 months pregnant with her ex's baby. She told me I could leave her and she wouldn't blame me, but I decided to stay with her. She told me she loved me and then dumped me because she needed to be with her baby's daddy. FML
Today, my girlfriend, who I've been living with for the last month, told me she's not attracted to me and wants to see other people. She told me this after months of dating and telling me she was thinking about having a child with me. FML
Today, my girlfriend of several years broke up with me because of my lack of ability to contribute financially to the life that she envisioned for herself, due to my significant contributions in child support to my ex. She wants a more equal partner. FML
Today, I told my girlfriend I loved her. She left and never came back. FML
Today, my fiancé walked out on me saying he loved me dearly, but not enough to continue parenting my three kids from my previous marriage because they hate him, he now hates them, and they’re not his problem to continue dealing with. I don’t know what I’m gonna do without him. FML
Today, I told my girlfriend that I think the concept of marriage is ridiculous and that it’s just being boyfriend/girlfriend with a fancier title. She packed all her things and moved out immediately. Now I can’t afford rent without her and have no idea what I’m going to do. FML
Today, my girlfriend of two years broke up with me because her father, who abandoned her before she was born and just reentered her life, doesn't approve. FML

That's the real question here. He'll get over it, the kid won't.

Good, less drama for you down the road. She isn't mature enough to handle life circumstances or she doesn't truly love you...

Did she also walk out on the kid?

Isn’t this considered parental abandonment? Whether you are there or not, an adult can’t just walk away from their child because they feel like it. This is child abandonment on her part.

what's your point? there is no charge for that. maybe there should be, it could possibly stop all the parents that have always done this exact same thing. it's only strange to hear because it usually isnt moms that leave.

there doesn't need to be a charge for it to be significant. if she really did abandon the child it will help him a lot in court when it comes to child support, custody, etc. it should not be overlooked ESPECIALLY because he's presumably a man and family court tends to favor the mother.

Sue for custody of your daughter stat. If she can't handle lock down with you and a child she'll likely do it again. I speak from experience.
