Today, a student's mother sent me an e-mail complaining that I was requiring her child to read a book containing mild profanity. She then demanded me to let him read an easier book. This would've been somewhat acceptable if the student wasn't in the 12th grade. FML

Today, my 12-year-old daughter was suspended from school for doing a book report on 50 Shades of Grey. FML
Today, the mother of one of my students bitched me out about her son's poor grades. He lazes around all day, paying no attention and being a constant nuisance. But, she says it's not his fault, and demands that I give him better grades so he won't get "self-esteem" issues. FML
Today, my son's school actually called me to complain that despite his excellent test scores, he spends too much time reading, and has a wilfully overactive imagination, so could I please get him to stop ''reading and imagining'' so much, as it makes him hard to teach. Are they taking the piss? They must be taking the piss, right? FML
Today, I was warned that I was failing too many students and it had to stop, so I showed my boss all of the easy assignments a lot of students didn't even turn in. She told me to stop using so many "big words" in them. I teach at a four year University. FML
Today, I had to re-grade a student's assignments because neither he, nor his parents can read "Spanish." I'd written in cursive. FML
Today, one of my fourth-graders came up to me and asked, "Can you please not put my test grades in the weekly folders? My mom likes to get mad when I get below a 90." FML
Today, I was bitched out by my 17 year-old son's teacher. It seems the idiot teacher made the kids advocate for his own political beliefs in a presentation, and my son ended his speech saying, "And it remains my opinion that our instructor is cramping my motherfucking style." Instant suspension. FML
Today, a student told me to fuck off. I work with 3 year-olds. FML
Today, I was reading a picture storybook to a kindergarten kid. She could pronounce more words than me, and corrected me. I'm about triple her age. FML
Today, my daughter was expelled from her school for beating another kindergartener with a Dr. Seuss book. FML

I would just give him a harder book to read, like a big boring book and make him do his own special paper for it just because it's what the mom wants the mom shall get :p

When I was teaching 9th grade English, I got complaints like that all the time. But my favourite responses came after my warning:of mice and men is required for all 9th graders and does contain some of the situations you are concerned about as well as strong language. "Oh thanks for the warning, but of mice and men is a classic, so I want my student to read that."

Tell her you refuse to give an easier book and find one minus profanity but three times more dull. He will pass but be less likely to tell his mom about profanities next time.

Maybe the parents are retarded and think their child is too young for it, even though he's probably able to vote by the end of 2015!
