Today, my parents are being investigated because they beat my brother with a belt. He deserved it for getting drunk the night before we were supposed to go on a vacation, but nobody cares about that. I'm scared I might get taken away. FML

Today, my brother threw a mug at my head and threatened to stab anybody who came at him because I woke him up for school. I called the police after threats were thrown at my mom, who then lied to them and said I overreacted. I'm currently getting the silent treatment from my family. FML
Today, my dad is threatening to have my mom arrested for reckless endangerment because she and my stepdad left me alone for a month while they went on vacation. I'm 24 years-old. FML
Today, I had to take my little brother to the pool. He acted like a brat the whole time, and when I told him we were leaving, he ran away, slipped, and hit his face on the tile floor. He told my dad and step-mom I punched him. They believed him, and I'm grounded for two months. FML
Today, I visited my family. Over the course of 2 hours, my brother punched me, and my mom slapped me across the face after drinking way too much wine. When I started gathering my things to leave, my mom started crying about how I don't visit enough. FML
Today, I got into a major fight with my parents over my younger brother stealing from me. Their response was to get angry at me for my "tone" with them. My brother is 18 with an obvious drug problem, but my tone is the problem. FML
Today, my mom was put in jail for beating the shit out of my dad. FML
Today, my parents said that we're never going to see our grandparents again because my grandpa hit my asshole little brother with a belt for calling him a boomer. I love my grandparents so much but my parents won't listen. FML
Today, I came home from work and the first thing I saw was the cops taking my stepfather away. My brother came out, crying and bruised. My stepfather beat him up after he demanded my brother to "get over pops's death and say that I'm your father now." Needless to say, my brother refused. He's 16. FML
Today, my little brother came into my room and hit me over the head with his baseball bat. He then dropped the bat onto my floor and ran crying into my mother's room proclaiming I stole his bat and beat him with it for fun. FML
Today, my parents yelled at me for coming home drunk from a party last night. They said I couldn't hang out with my best friend anymore as he's a "bad influence". He was the only one sober in our group and drove me home safely. FML

NOTHING and I mean NOTHING EVER makes it ok to hit kids, no matter how young/old they are. I'm glad they are being investigated. No, you won't get taken away over one incident but your parents will be required to take parenting lessons and anger management courses. I'm sorry for you, kid, that you feel either of you deserve to be hit. You deserve hugs from parents, not to be terrified they will hit you.
