Today, my roommate has a job interview. He only applied to the job yesterday. Meanwhile, I've been out of work for three weeks. I've applied to at least ten jobs. I have yet to get a call-back from any of them. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I have applied to over 50 different jobs in the last month. I have NOT received a call or email back from any of them. FML
Today, I've applied to 300 jobs in the past 4 months, gotten 7 interview, 2 of which have gone to a third round and I'm still unemployed. FML
Today, it’s been 3 weeks since I had an interview for an internship this summer. I’ve applied to over 40 internships over the past 6 months, and this was the only interview I’ve had. I banked my entire summer on this. FML
Today, after being jobless for 2 years, I got a call back for an interview. I was ecstatic until I saw the date. It's the same day I leave for a weeklong, nonrefundable vacation. I applied for the job 6 weeks ago, and since not hearing anything bought the vacation 2 weeks ago. FML
Today, it's been less than a week since I finally got a job, after over a year of searching. I just found out that there's about to be a wave of layoffs. I haven't even gotten my first paycheck, and already I'm going to lose my job. FML
Today, I called in about a job application I put in over a week ago. Apparently, the branch of the company that I applied to was never given my information, and the position was filled days ago. I've been checking the status of the position online daily, and it still says that it's open. FML
Today, being jobless and all, I tried calling my dad for a job after my many years of pride. He invited me to an interview to compete against 10 people, probably more qualified than I am. FML
Today, I applied for my job, while working at my job. I hope they hire me. FML
Today, the job search agency that I use asked me to stop sending in my resume, as no one had hired me in three years, and that the situation was unlikely to change. FML
Today, after several unsuccessful job interviews, I'm starting to feel emotionally down as both my mum and myself are out of work due to Covid. I even applied as a call centre agent with a friend that offered training. He got accepted and I didn't. FML

Maybe he's a more desirable candidate for the job he applied for. It could be your resume. It also depends on what jobs you've been applying for versus what he applied for. I'd also suggest maybe calling or actually visiting the location where you applied to so they know how interested you are. I did that for the last job I had. I do understand your frustration though.

Maybe take a look at his resume and cover letter to see if there is a huge difference in style. It does make a difference with companies that scan before having someone look at what passed the scan. You may need to spruce up the writing to sound excited about even boring responsibilities. I reworded my nephews and he started getting call backs. Didn’t lie. Just write it up differently. You are selling yourself. And your soul.

If I’ve learned anything from this site, it’s to make sure “I love ******** “ isn’t discretely put on your resume by someone else. You better check.
