Doggy dog world
Today, I've been crying on a regular basis because I know one day my dog will die. He’s a completely healthy and happy dog, I just can’t accept how short his life will be and the fact that he’ll probably die before me. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, it's the 11th anniversary of my dog's adoption, who died a few months ago. I miss her and can’t stop crying. I’m very sick and don’t know if I’ll ever be fit to have a dog again. Loneliness sucks big time. FML
Today, I held my 14 year-old dog as he passed away. He made me a better person and I spent more time with him and loved him more than 99% of the population. I don't know how I'm going to do tomorrow when I dig his grave, and know he's not with me anymore. FML
Today, I realized that I'm going to miss my mom's boyfriend's dog more than I'm actually going to miss him. The relationship is practically over but I've grown fond of his dog. FML
Today, my dog of 10 years died suddenly. My husband’s response? “At least you don’t have to buy dog food anymore." FML
Today, I saw a YouTube video of the cutest, sweetest old dog. When I checked the channel for more videos of this dog, I discovered that he died last month. Day ruined. FML
Today, I heard that my crush’s dog had died. For some reason, my first instinct when I saw him was to say, “Oh my god, I heard that your dog died!” He started crying. FML
Today, my 12 year-old dog died. My boyfriend's attempts to comfort me involved him muttering, "At least she knows how to play dead now." FML
Today, I took my 17 year-old dog, who had been my best friend my entire life right from when I was born, to be euthanised. I had booked in advance. The vet ambled in all spritely and cheerfully asked, "Just here for a checkup, aye?" FML
Today, my little brother learned about mortality when our dog died. Since then, he's gone a little nuts and keeps ranting that he sees no point as to why our other dog should live. He's 16. FML
Today, I woke up, patted my dog and kissed his nose. He was dead. FML

For your own good, I think you need therapy. No offense.

All life is ephemeral. Anything that lives, eventually dies. You, your dog, your parents. The key is to enjoy every day.

Trade it in for a tortoise. It'll do the crying in pity of your pathetically tiny lifespan.

I second this. I used to have constant worry that something was wrong with my dog and nightmares of her dying horribly. It turned out to be a symptom of depression. I did some EMDR, started taking vitamin D and temporarily went on an antidepressant (for 6 months), and all that chronic worrying and sadness over my dog went away. Do I sometimes get sad thinking about her being gone? On occasion. But it doesn’t consume or interfere with my life, or mental health, any longer. My dog also was much happier when I showed less worry and was not upset. Dogs are very sensitive to our emotions and your dog is absolutely noticing that you’re upset, in turn making your dog either anxious or upset themselves. This isn’t good for their health. So if you won’t seek help for you, do so because you want your pup to be around as long as possible.
