Today, as a wedding photographer, I had to explain to the worst bridezilla I’ve ever worked for, that on the day of her wedding she had scared my assistant so much that she forgot to put a new memory card in the camera, so no photos of the wedding had actually been taken. I’m now missing a tooth. FML

Today, I had the wedding from hell. Nope, not a bridezilla, but a makeup artist-zilla who caused the ceremony to begin over an hour and a half late, and then tried to charge the bride for her delays. She then went nuts when confronted with the reality of her poor time management. “Professional” my ass. FML
Today, I was tasked with taking a photo of my best friend getting engaged. As her boyfriend got down on one knee, I got so nervous that I fumbled the camera. It landed right in the lake. I didn’t get a single picture, and now I owe them a new Canon EOS R10. FML
Today, I went to a friend's wedding. I took stupid photos all day long and when came the moment that the bride entered the church, my battery died. FML
Today, my parents couldn’t keep it civil long enough to get through my wedding without causing a massive scene. My wife was so upset, she got through the “I do’s” then left crying without waiting for the photos, so now we don’t have an official wedding album, just poor quality Facebook pictures. FML
Today, my stepmother ruined my wedding by trying to get me to cover my tattoos with makeup. She spilled makeup on my dress, delayed the limo, talked through the ceremony about my tattoos looking horrible, and tried to cancel our photographer so there’d by no official photos of my horrible tattoos. FML
Today, I was looking at my wedding photos. The photographer moved onto the "candid" shots and thought it would be cute to have pics of us making out at the reception. I have blonde hair. The girl in the picture did not. FML
Today, I was at a wedding. After videotaping the ceremony for a few minutes, my memory was full. I went to delete another video. I accidentally played the loudest video I had. No one was looking at the bride or groom anymore. FML
Today, I got married wearing a strapless dress. As I walked down the aisle, our wedding photographer stepped out behind me to get a shot of me approaching my husband. Instead of stepping out, though, he stepped on. Stepped on my dress. Pulling it completely down. FML
Today, while backpacking in Switzerland I had my camera stolen. Not only does this have photos of my entire trip but the pictures I took for my best friend's wedding. I was the only photographer of her elopement. FML
Today, it was the day of my wedding. I had a massive headache a couple of hours before the ceremony so I decided to take a nap. I told my brother to wake me up an hour before it started. He forgot. Now everyone thinks I ran out on my wife. FML

OP is blaming the bride for stuff that happened long before the assault that they definitely should have caught themselves. There's not much excuse for taking pictures the entire wedding with a camera that didn't have a memory card in it. That's something a proffessional photographer should have noticed. That in no way excuses the assault but the assault doesn't retroactively excuse OP's screw-up either.

Not that her actions are condoned. But don’t ever blame the client for such a royal screw up that is completely YOUR fault. Be more professional than that. Do your job properly next time, you literally had one job. That’s someone’s special and important day. Those memories cannot be recreated, and now, will have no professional photos to look back onto.

This is purely your assistant’s mistake hence your company’s mistake. You should own up to it rather than push the blame on “bridezilla.” That being said, bridezilla shouldn’t have hit you but tried getting legal recourse but now you can do that instead.

Yeah the Bridezilla shouldn't have spooked your assistant, but you nor your assistant checked to see if the camera had a memory card in it beforehand? Most cameras would tell automatically that one has to be inserted...

I'm on your side on this one. if the bride wasn't such a scary b****h, the assistant wouldn't have been so shaken that she messed up an essential part of her job. the good news is that you can sue the bride for assault.

so you blame the bride for YOUR FAILURE to do your JOB. you are the one who checks the equipment, NOT the assistant. you also BLAME your assistant for being SPOOKED. didn't you use more than one camera, so you could get different types of pictures(like most photographers do). so every camera didn't have a memory card in them. time for you to find a different line of work.
