Now a dead little brother? >8D
um it wasn't your brothers fault dummy...unless you bought all of them on itunes and "transferred purchases" it was your fault for syncing it with a new computer. syncing to an itunes that has nothing on it then makes it so your ipod has nothing on it. poor kid getting all the blame for you not doing your homework on how to take care of things.
YDI for having such a crappy mp3 player.
#55 You can't back up your files with a crashed computer now, can you dipshit? He already had his files backed up on his iPod, so cut him some slack. Not everyone has the time and money to back all of their stuff onto an external hard drive or CD/DVD. So yeah, I guess you can say I sympathize with you OP. But if it really was an accident, I suppose that makes getting your brother back hard for you, huh? FYL.
Can't you just do a System Recovery with your old comp?
Yeah **** Ipods, Zune all the way
This is a fake. A "crash" won't delete your data, a format will, a HDD burnout will - but it can be recovered. Also you can't copy music back off an iPod without propriety software, or by manually going in to the iPod device and unhiding the folders and then searching through for the songs (long process as they're all over the place).
To the idiots screaming "OMG you should have done a back up!" 1. How is an ipod not a backup? It's slightly unconventional, but it works. It's an external hard drive that just happens to have a few modifications on it from Apple (which a quick google search will allow you to circumvent anyway) 2. Not everybody has $80 to go out and buy a 500 gig external and, frankly, not everybody cares enough. Especially if they already have a backup of their music on their ipod. OP, I feel for you. I'd be completely lost if my 12,000+ song collection were wiped. If you bought them all legit, most places will allow you to redownload them at no extra charge, so you're only at a time loss there. If you downloaded some, go open your torrent client and get cracking! And be sure to give your brother a knock in the head as well.
Are you kidding? Pulling the cord out while upgrading the software doesn't even wipe your data, and nor would transfering music. This is just stupid - I can't believe people actually think this is real...

through the apple store you can re-download your purchases up to 3 times. there's how-to's all over the internet, good luck!!
invest in an external hard drive for backing your stuff up.
