Today, I discovered that my supervisor, who I thought liked me, actually thinks I'm incompetent and lack emotional intelligence. I'm a student nurse and I've just listed her as my reference for our single, statewide job application. There's no way to change it. FML

Today, my new supervisor arrived after my old one had transferred away and we had a quick evaluation meeting. As it turns out, I'm not actually a good employee like I thought. I just had a shitty boss who didn't care enough to let me know I wasn't meeting company standards. FML

Today, I found out that one of my subordinates, who is whiny, incompetent, undermining, the definition of passive-aggressive and stupid, was given a pay raise. She now makes more than me. My boss values a complete moron over me. FML

Today, I accidentally put down the wrong year for my university graduation, so when my prospective boss was checking my references he found no mention of my name in that year's list of graduates. He accused me of faking my qualifications and refused to hire me. It was a 6-figure salary. FML

Today, my mother, who insists on sticking her nose into every aspect of my life, found out I'm only "middle management" and called my boss to criticize her for undervaluing me, demanding I be promoted immediately. I'm now the laughing stock of my office. FML

Today, I found out that I'm not getting a new position I applied for at my company. Now, I have to continue working for my boss, who recently severely criticized my spelling in my reports, only they weren't my reports, and when I pointed this out, she simply never responded. FML

Wow, that is bullshit. Not telling someone that you think they need improvements in a region vital to their job is such a dick move. I really suggest trying to get help from someone that works in the application program and explaining the issue. I'd also seriously advise taking what she did up with her superior, because that was seriously inappropriate of her and almost sounds like she was trying to sabotage your career. It really sounds like she baited you into using her as a reference just so she could **** you over...

Didn't you think to ask her before listing her? I mean, I'd do all sorts of stuff for a friend, but when one put my name as a reference without asking me, for a job in which I was not qualified to recommend her, which meant I would have to bluff my way through any conversations with someone checking on the reference, I was so surprised I just told the absolute honest truth: I'm sorry I can't recommend her as a babysitter, I don't even have any kids to mind.

How do you know the supervisor thinks this? If someone told you, maybe they're lying or "mistaken". Also, I'm surprised you can't edit a statewide job application.
