If it were my sister, I'd probably just tell her the truth, in kids terms of course. Explain to her that it isn't a "disease," it's a natural bodily function for women which they get when they're older that is a part of their ability to have babies. Although, it might freak her out to know she'll get "bloody ****** disease," when she's older too.
