Today, well yesterday, was the first day of school. The school lost my four year old and eight year old cousins for an hour by screwing up the bus schedule and having the four year old sent somewhere she didn't live. Luckily her brother had the sense to stay with her even when told to get off. FML

Holy shit, my mom would have ripped someone's head off if the bus system lost me as a kid. Good on the brother for staying with her- who know what could have happened if they'd gotten separated. (And this is why I do think that kids should have at least VERY basic cellphones, so they can call their parents if something like this happens, and so it can serve to track them if all else fails.)

Same thing happened to me this year. They lost my kid and no one knew where he was. That was a stressful day.
