You sound pretty young since this is your first period, so I want to give you some advice. Don't be embarrassed about getting your period, it's a completly natural part of life. Trust me when I say that it is so much easier not to be embarrassed, especially if you ever have an emergency or even have a leak. It's ok and it happens to everyone. (Trust me when you're older you will look back and wonder why you were embarrassed in the first place.) Also never be afraid to ask a classmate, teacher, school nurse for a pad or a tampon that's why they have them and it's much easier just to get one from them instead of not having anything. Never be afraid to ask questions as well, it's a new thing your body is going through and it helps to understand it. I wish I wouldn't have been embarrassed when I was your age. Because it turns out my periods were not normal, I have Endometriosis and PCOS, both are infertility diseases that cause pain especially around your period. And if I wouldn't have been to embarrassed to ask questions then I would have known sooner that my period wasn't normal. So even if it feel like the most embarrassing thing to ever happen, it's not and it's just a part of growing up. I wish you good luck and make sure to stack up on midol (for cramps) pad and/or tampons and of course chocolate.
Well that's just bloody embarrassing.
