Today, upon waking up, I received an email that someone had changed my Steam password and email. The account is worth around 2000€. I'm a student and due to my poor life choices the account is worth more than everything else I possess combined. FML.

Unfortunately in my case Steam Support doesn't give two damns until you can somehow verify its actually you, in my case it took one year to fully gain control of my account. However the year it took was all it needed to get me a VAC strike on one of my most favorite games. They don't care about that either. Hopefully things change in your case!
