Show up anyway. Every day. If they're going to fire you, make them do it to your face instead of being chicken ***** about it. Who knows? Maybe they'll reconsider.

#1 is totally right. An employer did this to me. It was policy that if you don't work for a whole month, you are automatically removed from the system. I was never told that I was being fired or laid off. Never even got a phone call. Just all of a sudden got a 7$ severance check direct deposited into my account. Had to call corporate to verify what the check was.
