Because in this case it sounds like a knee jerk question or one of concern that something was wrong in OP's home life. Bruises on the face aren't terribly common and usually DO mean another human put it there.

Whenever you get one, puncture it with a diabetes lancet and put a hydrocolloid bandage on it overnight. Works like a charm.
