Today, my mom drove my family to the desert for a themed family photo. We had to wear big frumpy old western-looking clothes in 115 degree weather. Hot and agitated, I muttered, "This is the ugliest thing I've ever had to wear." My mom, looking hurt, replied, "That's my wedding dress." FML

If you see an ugly baby and say "wow, look at that ugly baby" and someone says "that's my baby". Does that make it less ugly? The same with your mom's dress.

you should have kept that comment to yourself. I mean my mom is always wanting me to wear tacky clothes but I always dissuade her about not fitting me or something. it sucks hurting your mom's feelings. :( be careful with what you say next time.

I do blame the OP because while it might have been an ugly dress, being an ugly person is worse. She didn't have to make the comment and make her mom feel bad. The dress was probably important to her and hearing that being said about would be terrible. Maybe the OP should have sucked it up, worn the damn dress, and been able to take it off in just a little while. Cause this post just sounds like she was in a pissy mood and took it out on her mom.

of course I have, but I definetly deserved what came of it. So does she. And a wedding dress Isnt really something to be rude about, as it was probably special to her mother. So she also deserves it for not having the sense to look down at what she was wearing XD

You deserve it simply for being rude. Even if it was the ugliest thing in the world but your mother picked it out for you, you should have some class and suck it up for a few hours. She's your mother for God's sake. I'm sure she would appreciate some respect and less of your bitchy little remarks.

Well, your mom would appear to be a few pumpkins short of a full pie — both for driving you out into the middle of nowhere to have such a photo (WTF) and for putting you in her wedding dress (also WTF) — but the consequences for the complaint were something you brought upon yourself.

True but like stated OP said TODAY which is Feb. 25 Not July. I go to the desert all the time on CA & AZ border, no where near 115 in the sand dunes.

You did know that the "TODAY" and the "FML" are automatically added to every submission, right? People submit things all the time that didn't necessary happen TODAY. Should the OP have saved this til July to submit? probably... but it doesn't make it BS.
