Today, my mom did nothing but talk about Manson and the documentary coming on. I asked her why she was talking to me about him and she said "well, don't you idolize him? You guys are so much alike except he didn't ignore his inside voices". I have schizophrenia & apparently she's very disappointed.

The ****? I get that the media portrayal of people with schizophrenia is bad because it pins them as being always on the edge of a violent outburst, which isn't really correct... but every schizophrenic and schizoaffective person I've talked to has said that their hallucinations tend to make bad suggestions more often than good ones and that most of the times they do "listen" to the suggestions, it "just makes them bossier" the next time. Hell, one guy I talked to about it compared it to "Navi the fairy, only with weird and possibly dangerous suggestions instead of stating the obvious. Way more annoying, too." Point being, it sounds like a ridiculous thing for her to be disappointed in you for, and I hope doesn't she genuinely disapprove of your handling of your schizophrenia.
