Today, my grandmother patched up my $300, vintage, limited edition, designer jeans because she thought I'd accidentally ripped them. FML

well thats what you get for buying $300 jeans.

Maybe now you can reflect on how absurd it is to spend $300 on Jeans that are ripped, simply because they are "trendy"...

I think this entry should have gone: "Today, I saw that my idiot grandchild bought $300 ripped jeans, so I thought I'd fix them. He/she was ungrateful. FML"

why would you ever spend $300 on jeans

To #93, yeah you have the right to spend YOUR money however YOU choose, but we also have the right to let our opinions known, as long it doesn't interfere with other people's rights. At original poster: Sucks for you.

I'm sure she meant well, but she really should have asked first. I woudln't spend that much on jeans b/c I don't have that kind of money but when I do get a tax return? Hey, I'll spend $ on a nice computer or TV or else I'll pay down as much as possible on my car loan. To each their own on what they spend their $ on. Grandma ought to be old enough to have learned a concept called 'boundaries'.

I'm going to jump on the "shouldn't have bought 300 jeans" bandwagon. Especially vintage. Like everyone else said you can get all kinds of vintage jeans for super cheap and rip them yourself. Besides that, you can get any kind of good, new jeans for 100 bucks or less. As for the people talking about Wal-Mart, Wal-mart clothes suck. They're ugly, they fit poorly, (most of them are made only for larger people) and they are poorly-made. There are other places you can get non 300 jeans that are way, way better than Wal-Mart. Gross. And be grateful that your grandma cares enough about you to do something like that for you. She was just showing her love. Not to be all cliche, (I just lost my grandfather) but cherish these times you have with her because they wont last forever.

BTW for the people saying it's her money, and we shouldn't judge--This is a judgmental site. It's built right in. You know, "you deserved it." You have no problem judging on people who are cheating or whatever. It's their girlfriend, not your girlfriend. They should be able to decide whether or not to cheat. Everyone is judgmental.

that suckssssssss. all the walmart talk grosses me out. stay away.

I agree, wouldn't the patching look even cooler?

You are Dumb for wasting $300 on jeans, man I'm glad I'm not spoiled.

#117: you're comparing someone cheating on their girlfriend with someone buying designer clothing? Hey, I'm not saying you can't judge people. Just don't judge them on how much money they spend on their clothes.

-no. To someone spending 300$ on ripped jeans and then complaining when grandma fixes the jeans. Cheaters and OP-like douchebags are likely to get blasted on FML.
